Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
OIEC is strictly committed to follow uncompromised HSEQ principles during all design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, construction and commissioning activity levels. Before commencement of a project, relevant HSEQ regulations and prevailing procedures are carefully taken into account. All involved managers and staff in the project are fully responsible to observe all related regulations.
At OIEC, it is recognized that excellence in managing health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) as well as security are a social responsibility, essential to the success of our business. In this context, the Company’s top management has selected and approved the implementation of (HSE) based on OHSAS 18001:1999 and ISO 14001:2004 which two of OIEC's subsidiaries OEID and EIED have successfully been awarded these certificates. One of the great successes of OIEC in HSE lies in having zero incidents in 12 million man-hours of work.
HSE Objectives
- To maintain an HSE management system conforming to the principles of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and to ensure compliance at all levels.
- To promote the highest standards of safety and health and protecting the environment in order to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and codes of practice.
- To design and construct safe plants and equipment with minimum impact on health and environment.
- To provide employees with the resources essential for implementation, control and improvement of our HSE management system.
- To strive for continued improvement through periodical reviews based on feedback from performance measurement and monitoring trends in international HSE systems.
Quality Management System
OIEC as an EPC contractor, General Contractor (GC) and Managing Contractor (MC) for oil, gas and petrochemical projects is committed to implement an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System which improves overall business efficiency in engineering, procurement and construction.
In this regard, OIEC has defined the following objectives:
- Qualitative improvement of control systems
- Upgrading of information system
- Improvement of customer satisfaction
- Improvement of safety and occupational health of employees
- Improvement of environmental factors
A manager has been appointed for planning and overseeing the establishment and implementation of the quality system, reporting directly to the top management of the Company. Employees must follow related policies and meet the requirements of the Quality Management System at each stage of their work. Quality policies are constantly monitored for efficiency and compliance with international standards and revised when necessary.
QMS Scope
The quality management system of OIEC covers the following areas:
- Management, planning and monitoring of projects; rendering related services and training
- Research and development; acquisition of technical know-how
- Customer relations
- Surface and sub-surface exploration, engineering studies, design, technical inspection and supervision
- Implementing oil, gas and petrochemical projects as MC and / or GC
- Provision of machinery, equipment and materials for projects
- Construction work; installation of machinery and equipment
- Pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, repair, maintenance and operation
